Make Your Book Happen

Are you sick of setting time aside to make your book dreams a reality, only to find something or someone distracts you?

Do you know that you're getting in your own way, but want 2018 to be the year that you'll finally write your book?

In our recent survey, authors said their greatest struggle was finding time to write their book. It can be hard to allocate time to write, and not get distracted by the wants and needs of others.

And some people struggle because they sit down to write, and find that nothing happens. Even though you give yourself space, time and a clear plan, that may not be enough. Sometimes you just can't get that clarity and confidence to write on your own. You need to someone to talk to which will help you to gain clarity of your own thinking, or want advice to get you back on track, so that you actually get your writing done.

We know from our clients that when they invest time with a coach or a mentor, then they're more likely to start and finish their book. And because they have this input, they're less likely to get stuck.

We want to be able to work with as many business authors as possible to help them to turn their book dreams into reality, but we can't work with everyone one-to-one and on our writing retreats. That’s why we're launching virtual 'Make It Happen' days in 2018, where you can join other business owners that are juggling family, life and dreams.

These days will be delivered online via Zoom, and hosted by Book Mentor Karen Williams and Manage Your Critic expert Sheryl Andrews.

Whether you're getting started, doing your planning, writing or editing, or simply need to manage yourself and time more effectively, this day will kick-start your motivation, unravel what is holding you back, and hold you accountable to commit to your dreams for a whole day.

‘Make It Happen' days will provide you with access to peer support from other business owners, and two coaches who have written and published six books between them, and helped many others to do the same.

You will get Karen and Sheryl for a whole day with coaching, support, and advice when you need it, and accountability to help you to get on and make your book happen!

Make It Happen days are perfect if you:

  • 1.

Want to focus on your book but you'd prefer not to travel to a different location.

  • 2.

Need to plan out your book, and would like to get feedback on your structure as you go.

  • 3.

Would like to know that you have protected time to write and the accountability and support to keep you on track.

  • 4.

Think you might get stuck, so you love the idea of being able to get coaching, advice and support as you need it.

  • 5.

Know that committing to a day or four will help you to get your book done, and if you don't do it, then it'll never move off your 'I'll do it one day' list!

  • 6.

Want short-cuts and tips to make your book feel easier to write.

  • 7.

Need a boost to get you back on track with your book.

I made it happen!

Thank you for today’s Make it Happen Day. And make it happen I did, with your gentle and organised schedule of nudging of me into keeping to time with my targets for my business planning and writing.

Today’s work was a joy and, despite moving and shaking my original intention for action, it unfolded beautifully. I will be sticking to my zone of creative genius more often.

Following your day’s divisions I will be able to, as Steven Covey said, shift the big rocks first. I look forward to seeing and working with you both again.

How do Make It Happen days work?

We have our first call at 9am so that you can check in with us and set your goal for the day. You will explore how you need to be and what kind of resources or support you might need.

Not only will you gain clarity to maximise the time allocated on the day, you will gain insights and awareness of what you need to do to make writing happen at other times too.

You'll get to mastermind with likeminded authors, find out more about their books and what they want to achieve.

Then the Zoom link will be open all day and you will be able to check in with us if you find yourself being distracted or getting stuck.

You can ask for coaching, mentoring and feedback on your writing.

We will then gather together before lunch and review what has happened.

During lunch we invite you to connect and chat to each other, and after lunch we will set intentions again and repeat the process.

Then at 4pm we will gather together for a one hour review and celebration of what you have achieved.

My book took shape in just a few hours

I’d had this book deep inside of me, gradually rising to the surface over time but kept it on hold, waiting for the right moment. Once I’d made the decision to write my book I was ‘hopeful’ about blanking out an entire day in my diary to get started. Then I saw the Make It Happen day.

I committed to it immediately not even really knowing what it was. It just instinctively felt right. It came at exactly the right time for me, so I signed up and made that sacred space in my diary. I turned up flustered and a bit unprepared in the morning but soon, with Karen and Sheryl’s guidance and support I felt held. Their presence settled my mind.

The day flowed effortlessly and the plan for my book took shape in just a few hours, so I bought myself some flowers at the end of the day to celebrate! Magical… if you’ve got a book inside of you waiting to emerge, the space Karen and Sheryl have created in the Make It Happen day is for you. Go for it...

Are you ready to make your book happen?

For the 'Make It Happen' days to work for you, you do need to be committed to your book for the day.

Ideally this is your entire focus and you will be open and willing during the group calls to listen to and support other authors.

The days will be run entirely online via Zoom and you can join us for just £97 per day.

That's a bargain when you can tap into the knowledge of your peers and two great book mentors whenever you need them on the day.

To make the most out of the day, you'll get access to the Get Started workbook and a setting you up for success sheet at the time of booking. You'll also get group feedback and support to achieve your book actions.

It was a really productive day!

Thanks Karen and Sheryl. The day was really productive for me and I achieved what I set out to do.

The regular check-ins with you both kept me focused and your cheery faces kept me energised. Because I'd committed to this day, I had to make sure that all my work was done beforehand or scheduled for the next day. This preparation then meant that I had no distractions and didn't worry about my business on the day. Loved it, thank you!
