How proud and excited would you feel having finally written and published your very own book?

Many coaches, consultants, trainers and other business owners want to write a book but, for one reason or another, it doesn't happen. What happens if you don't make time to write it?

Someone beats you to it...

You keep hearing about people who have written their book. You feel jealous and frustrated that you haven’t gotten around to yours yet, especially if you realise that they’ve written the book that YOU were thinking about writing.

Not making the most of speaking events...

You speak at events, but you’re missing out on business because you don’t have a book to sell, so there’s no easy purchase that people can make to get to know you better. It’s proven that once people have spent money with you, they’re more likely to do so again. And some event organisers won’t even look at you because you don’t have a book to your name.

Not getting the right attention for you and your business...

You know that you’ve got a PR-able story, and having a book makes it easier to get noticed by journalists, and when you have a book, it also gives readers an easy way to take the first stage and get to know and trust you before having a conversation.

Not making a bigger difference...

You can only reach a small number of clients through your one to one services alone, and if you’re going to make a bigger difference to other people and your own business, then having a book will do this.

Not having a way for clients and customers to discover you...

You often find yourself saying the same things again and again, and you know your book is a foot in the door with many prospective clients who then may engage your services or refer you to others.

Not having a way to stand out...

You want to produce products and programmes and would love to have a passive income stream, and having a book would be the perfect next step to position yourself effectively and it’ll give you content that you can develop further to create more consistent income for your business.

Here's the solution to help you to finally get your book written...

Welcome to The NEW Author’s Journey Group Programme

If all we had to do is write, maybe, just maybe, writing would be easy...

...but the reality is that we have to juggle life and other commitments. When we do find space and time to write, it can be quite an isolating process.

Many authors start their book with good intentions, then get stuck and feel fearful. They crave stimulation, inspiration, and encouragement, but don't want to be distracted. We know how hard it can be to find that right kind of space and support. Friends and family just don’t get it.

Our discovery...

We've discovered what works, and that's to be connected with other authors on the same journey as you, providing invaluable peer support without peer pressure, plus encouragement, expert mentoring and fun!

That's why we (Karen Williams and Sheryl Andrews) have launched 'The Author's Journey Group Programme', running as a pilot starting September 2018, with the formal launch in January 2019.

We're pouring all of our experience, ideas and resources into this programme to create the best possible environment for you to author and publish your book!

We have written and published our own books and supported hundreds of other authors to do the same. Over the years, we've learnt many different ways to achieve success as an author, and love sharing what works, whilst helping you find your own unique style.

This isn't just an online programme, you'll get fortnightly live coaching sessions run over three monthly cycles starting in January, May and September, access to one of our challenges in April, August and December, regular educational sessions, and a quarterly Make It Happen day.  On top of this, you'll have access to online resources and a Facebook group where you can ask your questions, be accountable  - and share your successes!

You'll have access to our team of experts in all parts of the book writing and publishing process to give you the advice and support you need. And it is our hope that you will form strong bonds and support each other with reviews and collaborative marketing strategies.

Just imagine...

  • 1.

Imagine feeling absolute clarity and confidence in yourself, your book idea and your own style of writing.

  • 2.

How would it be if all the time you've spent talking about your book, and possibly berating yourself or doubting your commitment, could be transformed into a clear plan of what you want to write, with realistic goals of how you can achieve it?

  • 3.

Wouldn't it be great if you had support, inspiration and encouragement from people who totally understand how much of a stretch it can be to extract all that wisdom and life experience from your head, and put it onto paper in a cohesive and imaginative way, whilst juggling life at the same time?

This programme is perfect for you if...

  • 1.

You don't know where to start - you've probably heard conflicting advice about writing and publishing a book, and you simply want to know the easiest and quickest way to write your book and get it out there.

  • 2.

You have several ideas for a book –you have a story to tell or wisdom to share, but you don't know which idea to choose, and want to ensure that you focus your time on the right content, and park the information that may go in the next book.

  • 3.

You don't feel that you can write well enough - whilst you know what you want to say, you want help to structure and plan your book to ensure that it’s readable and doesn't have any embarrassing mistakes.

  • 4.

You want help with motivation – you’re struggling to find time to write and you're fed up with procrastinating, there's always something else to do first, and you know having regular encouragement will help you to stay on track.

  • 1.

You have moments of doubt - when you wonder if anyone will want to read your book, so you'd particularly like encouragement from others (and perhaps some occasional nagging) to help you crack on, and you want reassurance when that little voice in your head questions whether you're good enough.

  • 2.

You want feedback on your writing – as it feels scary sharing your stuff with others and you want a safe space to do this before you launch it into the world.

  • 3.

You want help with the 'fiddly' bits - that's where you can get our help to take you through the right steps, such as how to find an editor, how to choose a book cover design, and of course, getting your book published.

  • 4.

You want to ensure that your book builds your credibility - you don't just want a book in your hand, you want one that's going to make a difference for you and your business, and gets you in front of the right people who need to read it.

So, what's included in the programme?

  • 1.

Clarity of your vision - get clear on your bigger vision for you and your book, and be absolutely sure you are writing the right book first.

  • 2.

Get Started Workbook and Get Started programme - step-by-step workbook and video tutorials to set you up for success.

  • 3.

Fortnightly Live Group Coaching calls – typically hosted by Karen Williams and Sheryl Andrews, and occasionally by another book publishing expert, in this one hour session you can ask questions or be coached to gain clarity of your next best steps (except in April, August and December)

  • 4.

Group Challenges - in our non-group coaching months of April, August and December, you'll get access to one of our online challenges (Book Marketing in April, Writing Challenge in August, and Book Launch Blueprint in December) with a mixture of live calls and online learning.

  • 5.

Regular Educational sessions - where we'll share our wisdom and knowledge on part of the book writing, publishing and marketing process.

  • 1.

Make It Happen day - quarterly live online clarity and confidence days to help you with any aspect from planning and structuring your book, actually writing it, editing and marketing.

  • 2.

Author's Resource Hub - an online portal based on what you want and need, and you will have access to these resources for life.

  • 3.

Private Facebook Group - to ask for help, share ideas and get advice when you need it.

  • 4.

Critiques - share a chapter or two of your book with the group and practice asking for and receiving feedback that empowers your progress and makes sharing your book less scary!

  • 5.

Weekly Accountability - share your commitments for the week each Monday and keep track of your results from the week before to see your progress and get things done.

  • 6.

Celebrate Progress – every Friday you will be invited and encouraged to notice progress, no matter how small. You'll feel great for each step you take towards getting your book written and published.

"Without Sheryl's and Karen's support, I would still be staring out the window, up to my ears in bits of paper."

I was stuck when I started the Summer Book Challenge with Karen and Sheryl in 2017.

I had been writing my book Macular degeneration a guide to help someone you love for a couple of years, but I had a few areas where I couldn't see a way to express what I wanted.

During the challenge, I was chatting to Sheryl when I had a light bulb moment that changed my book. It is blindingly obvious when I say it, but when I was stuck I would stop and leave it to my unconscious expecting to come back to it with a solution. Sheryl just told me to think it through. I told you it was obvious, but sometimes you need someone to tell you it.

I then managed to finish the book, at which point Karen pointed me in the direction of Sam at SWATT Books who helped me to turn my manuscript into a polished and published book.

Without their support, I would still be staring out the window, up to my ears in bits of paper.

"I went from a standing start to 60,000 words"

Your 10k book challenge was the catalyst in terms of helping me to structure my book. I got my focus back, I got clarity and above all else I got my motivation back to complete what I started. With your help and support and the amazing people in the Facebook group, I went from a standing start to 60,000 words by the end of the challenge. It was the kick start I needed for my book.

Having interviewed around 20 people for my Portfolio Careers book and had dozens of pages of excellent and inspirational transcriptions, the enormity of working through these to create compelling content for readers became an obstacle I could not seem to overcome. Procrastination then held me back.

By signing up to your August book challenge, it gave me the focus, sense of purpose and motivation to make my breakthrough. The videos were excellent and many helped to refresh my memory on things I had done before for previous book that I overlooked, such as copying and pasting content from blogs, my audio book, interviews with with me etc. Also to find themes from the interview transcriptions and use the post-it note exercise to create some potential chapters. This was invaluable.

The Facebook group support and webinars have all been helpful and helped to build momentum and motivation to make my breakthrough. The result...by the end of the challenge I had written around 60k words and almost completed my initial draft! Thank you Karen for providing the framework to make this happen.

"it became an Amazon Bestseller in the category of Family Law and Health. I’m delighted."

Karen was my mentor when I wrote my book How To Be a Lady Who Leaves.

Writing a book is something that I’d had on my ‘to do list’ for a while, and when I was ready, Karen supported me to map it out and guided me all the way through, keeping me focused and accountable. When my motivation or confidence was low, she was there encouraging me to keep going. I’m so glad and grateful that she did- the finished book is more than I ever dreamed that it could be.

Initially, I saw my book as just another marketing tool to promote my divorce coaching business, but Karen’s invaluable help and support allowed me to believe that my book could be so much more.

The support of Karen, Sheryl and the team at Librotas meant that all I had to do was write – proofreading, copy editing, typesetting and design were all taken care of… I didn’t need to think about anything other than writing.

Once the book was published, I then went on to work further with Karen with regard to my book’s launch on Amazon and it became an Amazon Bestseller in the category of Family Law and Health. I’m delighted.

Working with Karen enabled me to turn my dream of writing a book using my extensive knowledge and expertise into a reality. If you’re writing or thinking of writing your book, Karen will support and guide you from initial concept to published article. Call her – you’ll be glad you did.

"the plan for my book took shape in just a few hours"

I’d had this book deep inside of me, gradually rising to the surface over time but kept it on hold, waiting for the right moment. Once I’d made the decision to write my book I was ‘hopeful’ about blanking out an entire day in my diary to get started. Then I saw the Make It Happen day.

I committed to it immediately not even really knowing what it was. It just instinctively felt right. It came at exactly the right time for me, so I signed up and made that sacred space in my diary. I turned up flustered and a bit unprepared in the morning but soon, with Karen and Sheryl’s guidance and support I felt held. Their presence settled my mind.

The day flowed effortlessly and the plan for my book took shape in just a few hours, so I bought myself some flowers at the end of the day to celebrate! Magical… if you’ve got a book inside of you waiting to emerge, the space Karen and Sheryl have created in the Make It Happen day is for you. Go for it...
